Faux-Cadres Canal was founded in 1988 by Painter/Sculptor Mathieu Gaudet, while he was in art school in Montréal. Over the years, he established himself as the best maker of stretchers around, amassing a client base made up of this city’s most successful artists.
In 2004 while working for a Montreal based architectural firm, Zeke and David became colleagues and together developed a strong working relationship. Zeke and David began to work with Mathieu in the production of stretchers.
In 2008 Zeke And David bought Faux-Cadres Canal and have since been at the helm, aspiring to build on Mathieu’s years of work, while continuing to elevate the paramount importance of archival considerations in art support for visual artists.
